Big Hit Music said on the 20th that RM, the leader of BTS, suffered an ankle injury on the 19th, two days before the comeback show.
Big Hit Music said, "RM sustained an ankle injury during rehearsal on the 19th and was taken to a hospital for a detailed examination and treatment," adding, "Based on the test results, he was diagnosed with 'accessory navicular sprain and partial ligament tear and talus contusion' (ligament damage and inflammation), and after having his leg put in a cast, he was advised by medical staff to minimize movement and focus on recovery for at least two weeks."
Despite the injury, RM is said to be strongly determined to take the stage for the comeback performance in the symbolic space of Gwanghwamun.
Big Hit Music said, "Prioritizing the medical staff's opinion and to prevent the injury from worsening, we made the difficult decision with the artist to minimize RM's movement during the comeback show," adding, "RM's choreography and some performances on stage will be restricted."
BTS will hold a free return performance, "BTS comeback live: Arirang" (BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG), at 8 p.m. on the 21st at Gwanghwamun Square.
