Director Yeon Sang-ho's new film "Goonche" will open in May.
According to distributor SHOWBOX on the 5th, the lead in Goonche is actor Jun Ji-hyun. It is her first film in 11 years since appearing in the 2015 movie "Assassination." Jun Ji-hyun plays Kwon Se-jung, a biotechnologist isolated in a high-rise with infected people.
Actor Koo Kyo-hwan appears as Seo Young-cheol, a mysterious man at the center of the incident. Actor Ji Changwook plays Choi Hyun-seok, the building's security officer who confronts the infected. Actors Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rock, and Go Soo also join.
Meanwhile, the film "Goonche" is a movie that director Yeon, behind "Train to Busan" and "The Face," is unveiling this year. The film follows what happens as a mysterious virus spreads, a building goes into lockdown, and the infected evolve in unpredictable ways.
