The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said it will publicly recruit performing groups and performance venues to take part in the "2026 performing arts regional distribution support program" from the 13th to Nov. 25, together with the Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS).

The "performing arts regional distribution support program" connects public theaters such as arts centers with private performing arts works so that a variety of foundational arts performances can be distributed nationwide. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS) are supporting 223 performance works (203 performing groups) at 177 venues nationwide this year through this program.

Eligible applicants for the 2026 support program are private performing groups, performance works that have completed production and were staged for a fee, and public performance venues located outside Seoul. The supported fields are the five foundational performing arts: dance, musical, theater, music, and traditional.

Applications will be processed through the "Performing Arts Distribution Partner" platform. When a performing group registers up to two works it hopes to distribute, performance venues will select three to seven works from those registered. The performing group then chooses up to five desired venues from among the venues that selected its work to finalize matching.

Details on the call, including the briefing session schedule and frequently asked questions, will be provided later through the Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS) website.

Shin Eun-hyang, the arts policy director at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "The 'performing arts regional distribution support program' aims to enhance the self-sufficiency of performing groups and broaden cultural enjoyment for local residents by enabling outstanding foundational arts works to be staged in the regions," adding, "We will do our best to restructure the call process to be efficient and transparent so that more artists and people can benefit."
