ThirdAge, a startup specializing in the senior industry (CEO Lee Boram), said on the 23rd it will host the "1st Global Senior Wellness Conference" over two days from Nov. 20–21 in and around Wonju, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.
Held under the subtitle "Senior wellness trends and future outlook in four Asian countries (Korea, Japan, China, Singapore)," the event will take place at venues including the National Health Insurance Service, Museum SAN, and Oak Valley.
On opening day, the keynote will be delivered by Lee Yun-hwan, president of the Korean Gerontological Society (chair professor of preventive medicine at Ajou University School of Medicine), who will present "Policy directions for healthy longevity for future seniors." This will be followed by Singapore's Director Esther Tan on "Public trust services for senior asset management," and Makiko Kawabe, a researcher at Sompo Digital Lab in Japan, who will present cases on "Senior care and the AgeTech global frontier."
On the second day, the 21st, wellness-related lectures and experiences will run in parallel. Lee Kyung-mi, head of the It's Okay to Be Old Design Lab, will give a keynote on "Wellness in the residential environment," and Jane Zhang, head of China's True North Consulting, ThirdAge CEO Lee Boram, and others will introduce trends in senior health resilience and the anti-aging industry.
ThirdAge CEO Lee Boram said, "This conference will serve as a forum to identify an Asia-specific senior wellness model," adding, "Through in-depth discussions among participants, we plan to distill new tasks to improve healthy life expectancy and quality of life into the 'Wonju Declaration.'"
Participants can also join programs such as a meditation experience at the Museum SAN Meditation Hall and walking on Oak Valley's forest trails.
