Painter Cho Chung-rae will hold his 22nd solo oil painting exhibition. It is an invitational show running from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31 at Gallery Pirang in Heyri Village, Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Closed every Monday and Tuesday.

Cho has worked in depth with the theme of "waves" for more than 30 years. "Some may say, 'Waves again?' but the more I paint them, the more I am drawn in, and it is hard to put that charm into words. Waves swallow every story and thought around them. Especially in times like these, they are even more suggestive."

The reason Cho insists on the theme of waves is that the feast of light and color is highly varied, and because it is impossible to break free from its addiction.

Regarding this series in particular, Cho said, "I tried to depict, under everyday situations, waves illuminated by bright moments and by light born out of darkness, along with each face shaped by more essential tremors."
