The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 25th that it will hold '2025 Dure Together Day' at the Conrad Hotel in Seoul in conjunction with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and will work on expanding the market for tourism enterprises run by local residents.
The tourism Dure is a project that supports local community residents in starting and operating tourism enterprises with unique regional characteristics in various fields such as accommodation, food and beverage, and souvenirs. It supports 235 resident enterprises in 50 basic local governments.
This year's event, being held for the first time, will see participation from 124 companies, including tourism Dure resident enterprises, travel agencies, and online travel agencies (OTAs), with over 250 individuals attending.
To enhance the understanding and interest of the travel industry regarding the tourism Dure policy project, a briefing on the resident enterprise support system and commercialization support has been prepared, as well as an exhibition space introducing tourism Dure food products and souvenirs.
If a business contract is successfully established between resident enterprises and travel agencies, follow-up support projects will be carried out to activate the sale of tourism Dure travel products related to the operation of resident enterprises.
Kim Geun-ho, the policy director of the tourism industry at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "I hope this event will establish itself as a platform for cooperation and coexistence to revitalize local tourism between resident enterprises and the travel industry."
