The number of members of the domestic travel information integrated platform "Discover Korea," operated by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), surpassed 1 million as of the end of last month.
Discover Korea is a representative domestic travel platform that allows users to check travel information from across the country in one place, with its origins dating back to 1997 when travel information was first provided on the organization's website. The mobile app launched in 2011 was integrated into a responsive web-based format in 2018, operating under the current system.

Additionally, the organization is making new attempts to enhance user convenience, such as automatically summarizing travel articles and comments using AI. Furthermore, through collaboration with Kakao Mobility and T Map, it is showcasing vibrant content reflecting actual demand for popular travel destinations and visitor trends by season.
Lee Sang-min, head of the National Tourism Department at the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), said, "We plan to continuously expand user-customized travel services by providing timely travel information through the use of AI technology," adding, "We will strive to evolve into a user-friendly travel platform that everyone can conveniently use."
Meanwhile, to celebrate the milestone of surpassing 1 million members for Discover Korea, the organization will hold a "1 Million Members Achievement Quiz Event" from Aug. 18 to Sept. 17. Anyone who is a member of Discover Korea can participate, and a total of 100 individuals will be randomly selected to receive gift boxes filled with the charm of various local areas and mobile gifticon vouchers.
