The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) announced on the 18th that it will hold a 'Tourism HR Conference' at Incruit in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 3rd and 5th of next month.
This conference is being held for the first time this year to support small tourism corporations that lack dedicated departments or personnel for recruitment.
On the 3rd, 'HR Starter' will cover actual recruitment processes that include recent hiring trends, job seeker characteristics, hiring procedures, and interviews.
The 'HR Master' on the 5th will conduct training programs targeting corporations struggling with finding suitable talent or high employee turnover.
According to the 2023 Tourism Industry Survey Report, the percentage of small travel agencies with fewer than 10 employees reaches 96.8%. The results of this year's job demand survey among tourism corporations showed that only 19.6% of them responded that they had filled all the planned hiring positions from last year.
Anyone working in the tourism sector can attend this Tourism HR Conference. Applications can be made until the 29th through the service menu of the Korean tourism industry portal 'TourRaz'.
Yun Seung-hwan, Head of Team at the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), noted, "While it is important to provide job matching opportunities to solve the labor shortage in the industry, it is also essential for tourism corporations to learn how to select and retain suitable talent." He added, "We will strive to strengthen the recruitment capabilities of tourism corporations and activate the overall workforce supply and demand in the industry."
