The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will distribute accommodation discount vouchers to domestic travelers. When using accommodation facilities in non-capital areas, a discount of 30,000 won will be provided for products over 70,000 won, and accommodation products in special disaster areas will receive support of 50,000 won.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 11th that it will officially launch the 'Accommodation Sale Festa' in the second half of 2025 in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) starting from August 20. This event will distribute a total of 800,000 accommodation discount vouchers (worth 23.6 billion won), including 500,000 vouchers allocated through the supplementary budget of 14.7 billion won. Additionally, a total of 72,000 accommodation discount vouchers will be provided to special disaster areas damaged by wildfires and heavy rains, as well as to areas affected by the 12.29 passenger aircraft disaster.
The 'Accommodation Sale Festa' will take place in two rounds: 'Autumn Edition·Special Disaster Area Edition' and 'Winter Edition', allowing each participant to receive up to two discounts, one per person per period. Facilities subject to the discount include hotels, condos, resorts, pensions, and other domestic accommodation facilities, while day-use products and unregistered facilities are excluded from the discount. Participants who took part in the previous 'Accommodation Sale Festa' can also participate again in this event. However, the discount vouchers for this 'Autumn Edition' and 'Special Disaster Area Edition' cannot be issued redundantly.
The 'Autumn Edition' and 'Special Disaster Area Edition' will run from August 20 to October 30, while the 'Winter Edition' will take place from November 3 to December 7. For the 'Autumn Edition' and 'Winter Edition', if you reserve accommodation products over 70,000 won in non-capital areas excluding Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon, you can receive a 30,000 won discount, while those reserving accommodation products under 70,000 won will receive a 20,000 won discount voucher.
The 'Special Disaster Area Edition' will include special disaster areas designated due to wildfires such as Sancheong, Hadong, Andong, Yeongdeok, Yeongyang, Uiseong, Cheongsong, and Ulju from June, as well as Jeollanam-do and Gwangju Metropolitan City, which are areas affected by the 12.29 passenger aircraft disaster. Additionally, it will support 33 cities, counties, and districts within eight metropolitan cities including Gyeonggi, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Jeonnam, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Gwangju, and Sejong, which were designated as special disaster areas due to heavy rain from July 16 to 20. In the 'Special Disaster Area Edition' regions, the discount benefits will also be expanded, allowing discounts of 50,000 won for accommodation products over 70,000 won, and 30,000 won for those under 70,000 won.
Accommodation discount vouchers can be issued starting from 10 a.m. on August 20 through participating online travel agency channels, on a first-come, first-served basis, with one voucher per person. After receiving the discount voucher, reservations and payment must be completed within the valid time frame from 10 a.m. to 7 a.m. the next day. If not used within the validity period due to reservation cancellations or other reasons, the voucher will automatically become invalid. However, users who do not use their vouchers can reissue them starting at 10 a.m. the following day.
