The group TWICE ranked 6th on the U.S. Billboard main chart 'Billboard 200'. With this achievement, TWICE has successfully entered the 'Billboard 200' top 10 for seven consecutive albums. It also set a new record for the most entries in the 'Billboard 200' top 10 by a K-pop girl group.
On the 20th (local time), the U.S. music media Billboard noted that TWICE's fourth studio album 'THIS IS FOR', released on the 11th, debuted at 6th on the 'Billboard 200' chart with a total of 80,000 units.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks albums based on ▲physical album sales, ▲a number that converts streaming counts to album sales (SEA), and ▲a number that converts digital downloads to album sales (TEA). TWICE's latest album recorded sales of 68,000 copies and 12,000 SEA units.
Previously, TWICE successfully entered the 'Billboard 200' top 10, starting with 6th place for their 10th mini-album 'Taste of Love' in June 2021, followed by ▲3rd place for the 3rd studio album 'Formula of Love: O+T=<3', ▲3rd place for the 11th mini-album 'Between 1&2', ▲2nd place for the 12th mini-album 'Ready To Be', ▲1st place for the 13th mini-album 'With You-S', and ▲4th place for the 14th mini-album 'Strategy'.
TWICE started their sixth world tour 'THIS IS FOR' with a performance held at the Incheon Inspire Arena from the 19th to the 20th. They will meet fans in various locations, including Osaka from July 26th to 27th, Aichi from August 23rd to 24th, Fukuoka from August 30th to 31st, Tokyo from September 16th to 17th, Macau from September 27th to 28th, Bulacan on October 4th, Singapore from October 11th to 12th, Sydney from November 1st to 2nd, Melbourne from November 8th to 9th, Kaohsiung on November 22nd, Hong Kong on December 6th, and Bangkok from December 13th to 14th.
The original soundtrack (OST) for the Netflix animation 'K-Pop Demon Hunters', which TWICE participated in, is also popular. The K-Pop Demon Hunters OST album includes 'TAKEDOWN' featuring Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung, and the title track 'Strategy' from TWICE's 14th mini-album. The K-Pop Demon Hunters OST album ranked 5th in this week's 'Billboard 200'.
