CJ ENM announced on the 7th that it has appointed Jeong Hyun-joo, former CEO of AceMaker, as the new head of its film division to enhance its competitiveness in the film business.
Director Jeong is an industry expert who has accumulated over 20 years of extensive experience in film production, investment, and distribution. While at Taewon Entertainment, he was responsible for international distribution, managing the purchase of over 100 foreign films, including "The Lord of the Rings," "Shaolin Soccer," and "Kill Bill."
Afterward, he oversaw production management and marketing as the head of the planning and production team for Korean films at CheongEoram, managing productions such as "The Host" and "The Outlaws."
In particular, while serving as the head of production investment at SHOWBOX, he was responsible for the production investments of several hit films, including "War on Crime," "The Thieves," "Inside Men," and "A Taxi Driver," leading the revival period of SHOWBOX. Since 2018, he has led the investment and distribution of films such as "The Admiral: Roaring Currents," "The Outlaws," and "Black Money" as the CEO of AceMaker.
