South Korean actress and singer Bae Suzy graces the cover of ELLE Korea's January issue wearing 'hanbok', a traditional Korean attire.
ELLE magazine recently did a photo shoot using a hanbok for the first time since its establishment in 1992. This move was part of the 'Hanbok Wave' campaign, which aims to promote traditional Korean dress to the world. Suzy, the model for the shoot, wore hanbok made by six different Korean companies in collaboration with The Korean Craft & Design Foundation.
During an interview with ELLE magazine after a photo shoot, Suzy expressed her love for hanbok, saying "Wearing hanbok designed for me by various designers makes me feel closer to hanbok. I hope I can help spread the word about hanbok a little bit."
When asked about her motives to work in different fields like music and acting, Suzy replied, "The passion that comes from devotion to work makes me unstoppable. The fact that I keep doing work consistently in this field is because I'm putting my heart and soul into it. I used to be hurt by being judged, but now I have realized that it is more important how I accept criticism," she said, showing her maturity.
Asked about her vlogs, which she edits herself, Suzy emphasized that it's her way to show love towards her fans. "Since it's a short video, I realized that I can shoot and edit it by myself. I think this makes it more personal and intimate for the fans," said Suzy.
Looking ahead to 2024, she stated, "I'm starting to realize that I need to take better care of my body and health." As for her upcoming projects, Suzy said, "I'm going to rest and prepare well before I start shooting. I want to do it while I enjoy it."
