Korean writer Han Kang's novel "I Do Not Bid Farewell," was named the winner of this year's prestigious Prix Medicis for foreign literature in France.
The jury of the prize announced the results at the restaurant 'La Méditerranée' in Paris, France, in Nov. 9.
Established in 1970, the Prix Medicis is one of the four major literary awards in France, along with the Goncourt, Renaudot and Prix Femina awards.
Previously, Han Kang's "I Do Not Bid Farewell," was also shortlisted for the Prix Femina for foreign literature, whose results were announced on June 6.
"I Do Not Bid Farewell" is a full-length novel published in 2021, five years after she won the Man Booker International prize for "The Vegetarian" in 2016.
Han Kang's "I Do Not Bid Farewell" was published in France in August by Grasset, translated by Kyungran Choi and Pierre Bisiou. The French version is titled "Impossibles adieux."
